An analogy of UI/UX

Many people often get confused between UI and UX.

According to a few, they say UI is β€” how it looks.

And UX is β€” how it works.

Here is a simple analogy of what I think the difference is β€”

UX is an architect.

UI is a builder.

Before constructing a building, the architect drafts a plan keeping the future in mind.

Based on the specific needs of people in the family to be functional, safe, and economical.

The same applies to UX.

To deliver a great user experience, you should focus on the big picture, think about how it works, and make tweaks to offer the customer an impeccable experience.

On the other hand, builders are too focused and concerned about the looks of the building. They often only think about making the building more elegant, beautiful, and attractive.

But, by focusing only on UI, the builder fails to satisfy the user. The building should not only be beautiful but should also satisfy all the user’s needs.

Therefore, before creating a design, you should keep the UX first in mind and then structurize your UI.
